1. What made you start learning Korean?
I’ve been a massive BTS fan for years, and I always loved singing along to their tracks. However, relying on romanized lyrics always felt like I was missing the true meaning and soul of the music. I wanted to stop just mimicking the sounds and actually understand what the members were saying. That deep love for K-pop and the strong desire to read Hangul properly so I could sing my favorite songs accurately is what finally pushed me to start my Korean learning journey!
2. How was your experience with Seoul X On?
Taking Teacher Ebie's BTS special lecture on Seoul X On was an absolute blast! Ebie brought so much vibrant, high-energy vibes to the class that it was impossible not to stay engaged. The atmosphere was incredibly fun and interactive. The absolute highlight for me was definitely the "Noraebang (Karaoke) Challenge" at the end of the class. Singing the song we just learned together over a real karaoke backing track made the experience unforgettable and so exciting!
3. What's the biggest change in your Korean since you started?
The biggest change is my confidence and how I approach the language. I used to be intimidated by Hangul, but this class completely broke that barrier. Now, instead of searching for romanized lyrics, I naturally find myself trying to read the actual Korean alphabet. Seoul X On provided the perfect balance of entertainment and real education, proving that learning a new language can be both deeply educational and incredibly fun at the same time.
